if you’re are using phpmyadmin on a publicly accessible server, then you might want to change the way you access it to keep unwanted hackers away.
for this howto, i am using a ubuntu based server with cli only and i assume that you know what you’re doing. if you dont already have phpmyadmin installed, simple enter sudo apt-get install phpmyadmin into your terminal.
the first step is to use nano or your favorite cli text editor and edit /etc/phpmyadmin/apache.conf[frame][/frame]
find the line that starts with Alias (should be line 3) and change /phpmyadmin to the address of your choice (i chose pma). save the file by pressing ctrl + 0, then exit by pressing ctrl + x.[frame][/frame]
now restart apache2 by entering service apache2 restart and test it out![frame][/frame]
